bead-ui
Interface Library · Physics · Sound

bead-ui turns a menu into a physical object. The items are beads on a vertical string: position on the string is the order of the list, and pulling sideways is intent. A small pull strums the string, a bigger one arms an action, and past a threshold the bead comes off. Release early and it snaps back, so every gesture confirms or cancels itself.
Each bead’s ID is hashed into a short audio jingle, which gives every item a recognisable voice without any sound files to manage. Attaching and detaching fire the jingle alongside haptics and a small burst of particles. Expanding a bead moves it to the centre and compresses its neighbours toward the ends of the string, so opening something rearranges the string rather than covering it.
It is built as a library: plain ES modules with Matter.js as the only dependency, and 44px minimum touch targets throughout. posedo is the first app built on it.
