WOE (What on Earth, the World Overlay Engine) is a macOS app for authoring Google-Earth-style video essays, styled like cyberpunk broadcast graphics: a Chyron character generator crossed with Neon Genesis Evangelion title cards. You work on an accurate WGS84 globe, fly the camera from place to place, and let the Earth unfold into a flat map when the story needs one.

  • Charts: choropleths, 3D bars, prism maps and arcs on the globe, plus line, bar and donut graphs, all from CSV.
  • Routes and media: markers, routes the camera can follow, imported GPS paths, and geotagged photos and video placed where they were taken.
  • Text and narration: broadcast captions, lower thirds, title cards and chapters, with narration recorded in the app.
  • Finish: a CRT screen finish and a space backdrop.
  • Export: an MP4 mastered to −14 LUFS, with an end card and a credits list.

Walks recorded with a companion field-recorder web app will import as a draft project; that’s in progress.
